What did Paynet need?

Paynet’s first need was to follow the changes made on the servers in terms of Hardware, Software, MSSQL Security, IIS, Linux Security and Permissions retrospectively and to be informed about who made these changes. Secondly, there was a need to take configuration backups of Network devices. Finally, the need for performance monitoring and management in the virtualization layer stood out. After our evaluation, we determined that we would meet these needs with SolarWindsSCM (Server Configuration Monitor), NCM (Network Configuration Management) and VMAN (Virtualization Manager) modules.

In accordance with Paynet's requirements, SCM, NCM and VMAN module installations were completed and virtualization, server and network infrastructure were added to Solarwinds, and customization studies were carried out in line with Paynet's requests.

Now, with the SCM module, the changes made in the Paynet infrastructure are monitored instantly, so we spend less effort to follow up. With our JIRA integration, a ticket is opened instantly on the JIRA platform for a detected change in the SCM module and all other alarms, which allows us to manage our time efficiently.

In terms of configuration management specific to network devices, daily backups are taken from critical firewall devices with Solarwinds' NCM (Network Configuration Management) module. Received backup jobs are shared with relevant people as information.

In the VMAN module, we follow Paynet's ESX hosts added to vCenter. We monitor the basic performance metrics of VMs (Virtual Machines) running under ESX Hosts, and we can receive notifications about resource usage on VMs thanks to the Recommendations feature in VMAN. Thus, we can easily perform performance management and system monitoring, and make instant interventions in critical situations.
